Increasing Demand for Short Term Health Plans

The current COVID-19 Coronavirus crisis has increased the need and desire for health insurance protection.  For those individual Americans who are now uninsured due to being layed off from their jobs, don't qualify for a subsidy under the ACA (aka Obamacare), or are not eligible for an employer sponsored health insurance plan, have the opportunity to enroll in a Short Term Health plan.  These health plans offer peace of mind with basic and catastrophic health insurance protection for unexpected healthcare events.  Short Term Health plans are underwritten based upon how the applicant answers certain yes or no health questions and may be denied coverage.  It's important to have a knowledgeable health insurance broker ( that you can trust to review the details/exclusions of the plans and help to select the plan that's right for you.  The coverage has limitations and can exclude certain types of health services, such as mental health or prescription drug coverage as they are not required by law to follow the same rules and regulations as ACA compliant plans. Overall, they are lower in cost than ACA plans, serve as gap insurance when in between jobs, and provides financial protection when the alternative of having no insurance can be financially devastating should a major health event were to happen.
